OMD2 July Nail Challenge! Day 18 – Dotticure

Hello! Today I will be showing you my nail design for the ‘dotticure’ theme! Today’s nail model is my fab friend Ellie! Thanks for helping out El! 😀 And get blogging so I can link to your page! 😉

For this mani, I just went completely mad with dots, as the theme suggests! I started by applying a base colour with the shade duck egg blue by No7. After this point, I used a dotting tool and other blue shades and filled the nail with dots! If you don’t have a dotting tool, don’t worry! There are many other alternatives. Take a look at my previous dotting tool guide post which is actually one of my most popular posts to date! Just thought I’d throw that random fact in XD

This manicure is simple and actually quite fun to create! I find designs like this very relaxing to complete for some reason. Probably because you get to be imaginative and creative without being too neat! You can use all sorts of colour combinations and create as many layers as you want! I used about 4 different shades to create the dots but you could use even more! I love blue nails so I tried to stick to this colour theme. I also added a few white spots in the Models Own HyperGel polish White Light. I love wearing aqua blue nails on holiday and in the summer because they remind me of the sea and the beach. 😎

If you think that these nails are a bit too busy, you could just create a dotticure accent nail to make a basic manicure a little more lively. If I were to complete these nails again, I would probably add a layer of a shimmery blue/green polish spots just to make them even more interesting.

Thanks for reading! That’s all for today! Hope you like this design! At the moment, I’m concentrating on the OMD2 challenge but, if you have any nail art requests, be sure to let me know in the comments section or using my contact page and I will get back to you!
