Hello! I’m back with an exciting new design 😀 This month, I will be taking part in a brand new nail art challenge which will run throughout July. The challenge known as OMD2 or Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux is hosted by Brijit – Brijits Digits, Jacqui – Craftynail, Jemma – Eeeek! Nail Polish!, and Lindsay – Nail That Accent!
The challenge is very exciting! Not only is this an opportunity to post new nail designs everyday throughout July, but there is also the chance of winning prizes in a raffle at the end of the challenge! Anybody can take part at any time until the end of July and you can complete whichever challenges you want! If you want to join in with the designing fun, check out one of the blogs’ reference pages. Here’s a link to the Craftynail page for more details.
Today’s challenge, as you can see, is mint! I was planning on entering my brand new mint ice cream design but if it wasn’t for Pinterest, I wouldn’t have had the idea so I decided to write a separate post, giving credit to my inspiration! Look out for that soon!
Anyway, I decided to play safe with this design and create a basic nail design inspired by a new lace vest top that I purchased from Select. It’s a really pretty mint lace top! Perfect for summer!
To create this look, I used a Barry M polish in the shade mint green as my base colour and my good old Barry M nail art pen in white. I created random flower shapes and filled in the spaces with small dots. I created around two flowers on each nail although, on my thumb, I got a bit carried away and decided to just fill in the whole nail with swirls, flowers and dots. I sealed the design with my seche vite top coat. As I’ve said in the past, I love the Barry M nail art pens because it’s just like doodling on a piece of paper, you can let your imagination run wild!
So that’s my first nail art challenge post! Keep checking back for the rest of the challenges that I attempt! I promised in lots of my previous posts that I was going to get back into the blogging routine but I sort of didn’t… But now I’m back 🙂 I have about 5 drafts waiting to be posted, including my Nails inc. diary June review (although it’s July but shhh… Let’s pretend I posted it in June 🙂 )
Thanks for reading!
