Countdown to Christmas: Day 3

Welcome back for Day 3 of Countdown to Christmas!

Today I will be revealing another nail design which I designed myself.  It’s perfect for both short and long nails so it’s ideal for everybody. Depending on the materials that you own, this design could be a little tricky due to the small details but will some patience, anything is possible!

So here it is…

Christmas Snowman_ljmoo123

As you can see my design is inspired by frosty the snowman! Isn’t he cute?

To create this design, I used a white polish (Alpine Snow by OPI), an orange polish, red striper, my Barry M black nail art pen, dotting tools and a toothpick.

Here is what you will need to do:

Step 1- Apply a base coat to protect the natural nail

Step 2- Apply a base colour. I used ‘Mint Treat’ by No7 from their new Gel Shine collection.

Step 3-  Use a dotting tool and white polish to create too dots for the snowman’s head and body. Make the bottom dot for the body slightly larger than the dot for the head.

Step 4- Use a toothpick dipped into a very small amount of orange polish. Press the tip of the toothpick onto the nail to create the baby carrot nose.

Step 5– Use a black nail art pen to draw the details. Add a coal mouth, top hat, little stick arms, buttons and eyes.

Step 6-  Use the red striper or nail art brush to add a scarf. Simply draw a curved line where the white dots meet and then add two more small lines for the end of the scarf.

Step 7- Finally apply a top coat to seal the design and a glossy look.

That’s all you need to do to create this little Frosty the Snowman. You could use the design as an accent nail and paint all the other nails in the base colour or, you could mix and match the designs being revealed each day.

Come back tomorrow for another design!

Enjoy 😉
