It’s December! That can only mean one thing.. it’s time to reveal a nail design!
Today’s design was inspired by an image that I discovered while browsing Pinterest, unfortunately I can’t find the original link to the person who produced the design but it is one of the best Christmas nails I’ve seen this year. It’s so simple yet effective.
As you can see it’s a Santa hat French tip. I really love this design and it could be an accent nail if you just wanted to leave the other nails as a plain colour such as a matching red, you could decide to paint every nail with a Santa hat, or you can combine it with other designs like I’ve done.
Here’s how you can recreate this really christmassy nail:
Step 2– Apply a base colour if you want to. I decided to add a nude base colour by Sally Hansen. You could leave the nail plain or you could use a glitter polish or a different colour.
Step 3– Use a red nail art striper to apply a red French tip to the nail. Keep the brush still but rotate the nail for an even shape.
Step 4– Use a dotting tool and white polish to add the fluffy white band to the hat. You don’t have to be too neat, it just adds to the effect.
Step 5– Add another red line starting at the top corner of the nail. Bring the striper down the nail and curve the line until you reach about half way down the nail.
Step 6– I decided to add a small 2mm silver gem to the end of the curved line. I attached it by using a small amount of nail polish because I don’t like using nail glue. If you don’t have any gems you could use a bead or just some white polish
Step 7– Add a little bit of glitter polish to the tip of the nail for a sparkly Santa hat.
That’s it! They only take a few minutes to recreate and you can use various colour combinations.
Come back tomorrow for a new Christmas treat!
